1. After long-term gaming experience, I have found that Odin has a certain impact on game balance, especially for expensive buildings in the rear. In Teams All Welcome, it is rare to see anyone successfully create super weapons such as Drp/Zenth/StarLight, one of the reasons being Odin's existence.

2. Odin poses a great threat to Singu. Odin has high health and movement speed, making it easy to destroy Singu There are almost no effective means to defend against Odin unless a large amount of Anti Air is produced. However, Anti Air can only be used for air defense, which is fatal for disadvantaged teams. In disadvantaged teams, there are usually not many metal made AntiAir, so they can only watch their Singu being destroyed and be powerless, further exacerbating their disadvantage.

3. Although most Elo high players disdain building Singu and super weapons, building Singu and super weapons is still one of the core gameplay of the game. However, Odin has now broken the balance of the game, requiring players to build powerful air defense nets and shields when building Singu, greatly increasing the cost of developing ECO and reducing the diversity of gameplay. I believe that everyone's mood will not be too good when they see their own Singu destroyed

4. In view of the above, we need to weaken Odin to a certain extent, which can be achieved by increasing its price, reducing its damage and movement speed, reducing its threat to rear buildings, or lowering its flight altitude so that ground forces can also attack Odin, making it less easy for Odin to destroy Singu

In my opinion it is well balanced, as it has the possibility to reach backline and kill expensive stuff (which is its main use) but at the same time can be stopped by 1 newton set on pull or by 3-4 newtons set on push. It also moves and turns quite slowly. So if you place a pair of newtons it's pretty vulnerable, then you need just few aa to kill it at a reasonable cost.
I think the real problem is that most people still haven't learnt to defend important structures when they have few aa.

One answer: newtons.

It's true that it slightly increases the singu "project" cost, but a newton is 200, so 2-3 newtons, increase the total cost of the project by around ~10% (considering you generally must also include some terraform and lotus for things like scythes/jacks/flees).

I have spectated games in the last two weeks with supers on both sides, so they still appear.

Did you try to use Odin's to kill other people's singu's or stuff? I did and it is less easy than it appears, plus they are expensive - 1500 - so you can end up doing a metal donation or not making cost.

Aside from the newton trap, things that can keep up with it kind of counter it very efficiently if they're in the right position before it drops the bomb. Like, if it enters your airspace and a single flak tank meets it and keeps following it, it's dead before it reaches the newton.

Hawks are quite good at this too.

I feel like Odin is a reasonably well designed unit for the job it does, it's just that the job is one I personally think could or probably even should do without. Its main targets are units that are either late game or otherwise niche, and it seems to exist to push them further into disuse. I realise something like lucifer or desolator can be annoying to play against, but building them was rarely the optimal play even before Odin - they don't need to be even more niche. Meanwhile, the late game economy buildings and superweapons already rely on the game progressing to that stage. They are large, risky investments that present a juicy target requiring some serious defence. I can't say I'm a fan of them having such a dedicated, powerful counter.
