The number of people who drink coffee in Western New York is pretty staggering. Everywhere you look, there are Tim Hortons, Dunkin' Donuts, and Starbucks restaurants popping up. If you've ever looked at a drive-through line at one of those stores in the morning, it feels like people can't make it through their day without their Timmy Ho's. I know, because I'm one of those people.

So then what makes a great cup of coffee? In my opinion, it's the company that makes the cup. Even the worst cup of coffee is better when you have someone great to share it with. The thing about coffee is that there are so many ways to make it, and everyone likes it differently. Some load it up with cream and sugar, people like my mom just drink it black. Some love sugary coffee drinks or flavored coffee. Then there are the people who will only drink it on ice. We just can't get enough of that rich, sometimes smoky, sometimes creamy brew.

Over the past couple of years, my mom and I have made it a bit of a ritual to try to have a coffee date at least once a month, but we never go to the same place twice. We are always looking for great new places to try with incredible theming, a cool aesthetic, and most of all, a great cup of coffee.
