WE SEE THE IMPACT RIGHT HERE IN CENTRAL ALABAMA EACH AND EVERY DAY. TODAY WE INTRODUCE YOU TO KATHY CARTAGENA, A VOCAL MEMBER OF THE LOCAL HEALTH CARE COMMUNITY. FOR YEARS, SHE’S WORKED AS A PROGRAM MANAGER AT UAB, LEADING THE CHARGE IN PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON EQUITY ACCESS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. IN 2022, SHE SPOKE WITH WVTM 13 ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING HEALTH CARE ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL. THE ABILITY TO HELP OTHERS THROUGH THE SYSTEM. IT’S SOMETHING THAT I’M PROUD IS TO BE ABLE TO BE A CHANNEL OR A BRIDGE THAT COULD FILL THE GAP ON ON BETWEEN THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR EITHER ANY OTHER SYSTEM, GOVERNMENT, OR ANYTHING THAT MIGHT BE THIS POPULATION DOESN’T HAVE ACCESS OR THEY DON’T HAVE THE RESOURCES.
