Drone video shows crews battling massive Birmingham fire
ESPECIALLY THERE WHERE WE STOPPED IT AT 1015. AND, SARAH, THESE ARE BRAND NEW DRONE IMAGES FROM SKY 13. YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT. YOU KIND OF SEE THAT OVERHEAD VIEW AND YOU BIRMINGHAM FIREFIGHTERS, THEY TALKED ABOUT THE SIZE OF THIS FIRE AND HOW MUCH IT EXPANDS. THEY SAY IT DEFINITELY THE ENTIRE BLOCK. AND YOU CERTAINLY SEE THE SCOPE OF IT FROM OUR AERIAL IMAGES HERE YOU CAN SEE HOW THE APARTMENT BUILDINGS, THEY’RE JUST GUTTED ON EACH SIDE THERE, THE VACANT STRUCTURE COMPLETELY COLLAPSED. YOU HAVE, I COUNT, AT LEAST AT LEAST TWO, MAYBE THREE OF THOSE LADDER TRUCKS. THERE THAT ARE UP. AND THAT’S VERY RARE TO SEE THAT MANY LADDER TRUCKS OUT RESPONDING TO A FIRE. YOU KNOW, YOU AND I HAVE BOTH COVERED A LOT OF FIRES OUT ON THE SCENE. AND TO SEE THIS SIZE OF A RESPONSE, THIS IS NOT NORMAL. TO SEE SUCH A LARGE RESPONSE. AND AGAIN, THEY WERE MENTIONING THE TWO ALARM FIRE. AND THEN OF COURSE, MORE RESOURCES CALLED IN. IN ADDITION TO THAT TWO ALARM FIRE RESPONSE. SO LOOKING AT THESE IMAGES HERE, YOU CAN REALLY SEE HOW GUTTED THOSE BUILDINGS ARE FROM THE FIRE. TRULY INCREDIBLE TO SEE THAT AND THOSE FLAMES JUST CONTINUING TO JUST SHOOT UP FROM THE FROM THE BUILDING THERE, THOSE I WOULD SAY ALL THREE OF THOSE BUILDINGS. JUST A COMPLETE LOSS. YES. YEAH. AND THAT BUILDING IN THE MIDDLE WHERE IT ALL STARTED QUICKLY FELL THIS MORNING. THAT FIRE JUST BURNING OUT OF CONTROL. AND THEN THESE ARE THE DRONE IMAGES RECENTLY OF HOW THAT LOOKS.
