MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAW) - Wednesday was a huge day for high school athletes all around the country. It was no different in north central Wisconsin as athletes inked their commitment to play in college.

Beginning at Mosinee, Treve Stoffel signed to play football at Wisconsin. Stoffel was a two-way NewsChannel 7 All-Star in 2025 at wide receiver and defensive back. He’s thrilled to get to represent Mosinee in Madison.

“I’ve always been an underdog, so being that underdog again just felt right, felt comfortable again for me. So to do it again, to do it at a collegiate level would be amazing,” said Stoffel. “The opportunity I have is one in a million sometimes. So it’s unreal, the opportunity I have.”

In Rhinelander, Caden Sieker signed to play football at Winona State. Sieker has had to battle through injury to get to this point. To get to put pen to paper on Wednesday was a really great feeling.

“It’s very, very gratifying,” said Sieker. “I worked my whole high school career and since I started playing football, I wanted to play at the collegiate level, so it’s very, very exciting and I’m very excited to see stuff finally get put in place.”

At Lakeland Union, Carson Fieck signed with Northern Michigan to continue his football career. He’s the first Lakeland football player to be a scholarship player in 17 years. He, too, has had to battle injury and adversity. He’s thankful to all those who helped him get to this point.

“Playing for Lakeland has been the best experience of my life,” said Fieck. “It honestly made me who I am today and it’s a big part of my life. I can’t thank the coaches enough here at Lakeland for everything they’ve done for me. Just awesome people, constantly pushing me to be my best and led me here today.”

In Amherst, Sully Perkins inked with Michigan Tech to further his football playing days. Perkins made the decision to play football over basketball. It’s something he never would’ve expected when he transferred from Virginia to Wisconsin in his sophomore year of high school.

“As a kid, that was the goal. I loved football as a kid. Then I got into high school and kind of fell out of love with it,” said Perkins. “Then, coach Lusic kind of instilled something in me. He always told me, you got to be tough, you know, no matter where you go. Not listen to the noise, and that’s a big thing; you’ve got to not care what people think of you. Just do what you do, you’ve got to go ball out.”

In Marshfield, five student-athletes signed with their next school. Madelyn Himebauch signed at the D2 level, continuing her acrobatics and tumbling career at Wingate University. She is very thankful to have the opportunity to do this at the next level.

“I’ve always known I wanted to do cheerleading or acrobatics or tumbling in college and they just gave me the opportunity to come for it,” said Himebauch. “It’s going to be such a great experience, honestly.”

Marshfield’s other signees included Jakob Sadowska for baseball at UW-Superior, Claire Malone for soccer at UW-Stevens Point, Hailey Klumb for basketball at UW-Eau Claire and Della Smith for volleyball at UW-Platteville.
