IPSA-WiPS is an online conference taking place over three consecutive days, with four-hour sessions each day, aligned to accommodate participants across all time zones. Participation is limited to paper presenters, panel discussants, and panel chairs; public attendees will not have access to the online sessions. This structure is designed to encourage in-depth discussions of each paper. While the conference is exclusive to IPSA individual members, non-IPSA members may submit paper proposals, but they must become IPSA individual members if their papers are selected in order to register for WiPS.
We invite you to explore the various sections of this website for detailed information on submitting a paper proposal, which should be directed to one of the WiPS panels. Following the submission deadline, panel chairs will review and select the papers. Proponents will be notified, and once they register for WiPS, they will gain access to the online sessions (conducted via Zoom) scheduled for December 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024.
This conference emphasizes “work in progress” papers, so completed research is not a requirement. Participants are expected to engage actively in discussions over the three days (four hours each day), in addition to presenting their own work. WiPS offers a unique opportunity for IPSA individual members to partake in meaningful academic exchanges without the need to travel to distant venues. It aims to provide valuable feedback on research and foster the development of special journal issues, books, research networks, and project proposals across various sub-fields of political science.
We encourage you to review the other sections of this website and pay close attention to the “IMPORTANT DATES.” Given that the sessions are scheduled for early December 2024, the timelines for the different phases of the process are concise, and deadlines are fast approaching.
