Biography
John was born in 1785, in Amelia County, Virginia. He is the son of Stephen Wilkinson and his first wife, Tabitha Morgan.
On 16 Sep 1807, in Prince Edward County, Virginia, he married Lucy Penick.[1] They settled in South Carolina and had the following children.

He passed away in 1854, in Perry, Alabama. He is buried at the Wilkinson Family Cemetery in Perry.[2]

Slaves
In his father's will he was left the following slaves, who (as stated in the will) were already in John's possession. As he was living in Greenville, South Carolina at the time his father died, it is believed he took these slaves with him from Virginia to South Carolina.[5]
