Caution
There is a danger of confusing two Richard Warrens who were contemporaries with children in the Massachusetts Bay Colony:
- Richard Warren, born about 1580 was a passenger on the Mayflower in 1620. His wife Elizabeth Walker, and five daughters Mary, Anna, Sarah, Elizabeth and Abigal, arrived in Massachusetts on the Anne in 1623. While this Richard's place of birth is unknown, his wife's family came from Hertfordshire and he may have been from there.
- Richard Warren, born before 1575, who lived and died in Dorsetshire, England, and married Eve, was not a passenger on the Mayflower. His daughter Joanna, however, immigrated to Massachusetts.
