Daniel was born in 1762 in Dracut, Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel Varnum and Hannah Mitchell. [1]
He married Persis Hale (1767–1796) "Passis" in Dracut in 1789. [2] They had the following children:
- Hannah Varnum 1789–1839
- Daniel Varnum 1791–1859
- Joshua Varnum 1793–1885
- Persis Hale Varnum 1796–1856
He married 2nd Polly Butler (1779–1837) in Pelham, New Hampshire in 1798. [3] They had the following children:
- Harriet Varnum 1801–1884
- Prudence Gale Varnum 1802–1882
- Mehitable Swett Varnum 1806–1884
- James Mitchell Varnum 1809–1899
- Charles Butler Varnum 1812–1819
He passed away in 1822. [4]
