Biography
William Henry Tong was born 26 June 1911, in New Zealand, his father was John Rice and his mother was Mary Winifred[1]
It is officially announced that Private W. H. Tong will be the Democratic Soldier Labour Party candidate for the Rotorua electorate. Private Tong, who is 32 years of age, was born in Feilding and has resided for many years in the Rotorua district. He was mentioned iii dispatches for i outstanding services in Libya and Tunisia. He married Margaret Annie Harrison Watt in 1944[4]
He died 25 Jun 1983, in New Zealand[5] and is buried in the Waimamaku Cemetery - Kaikohe, Far North District, Northland, New Zealand, Block 135, Plot 6[6]
