Biography

Preserved was born March 29, 1680 at Northampton, Massachusetts. He was the son of Jedediah Strong and Freedom Woodward.[1] Family stories suggest that Preserved got his name because he was born during a great snowstorm, and "preserved, notwithstanding it's severity, and the extreme cold weather following".

He married his step-sister, Tabitha Lee October 23, 1701.[2] They had eight children. Among those children are:

  • Tabitha, b. 13 Aug 1710; m. James Parker; d. 20 Nov 1730
  • Mary, b. 10 Jun 1714

They moved to Lebannon, Connecticut in 1709. Sometime after 1730, they moved to Coventry. He was one of the selectmen in Coventry for several years. He passed away September 26, 1765 at Coventry, Connecticut.
