Biography
Mary Cooke Saltonstall was the first child born (1781) to Nathaniel Saltonstall and Anna White.[1] She married John Varnum on 09 October 1806 in Haverhill.[2][3] Mary Cook (Saltonstall) Varnum died of consumption on 07 August 1817 in Haverhill at age 35.[4]

- Nathaniel Saltonstall Varnum, b. 19 Jul 1812. US Army, died in the construction of the railroad across Panama.
- John Jay Varnum, b. 05 Dec 1814.
- Richard Saltonstall Varnum, b. 12 Apr 1817; mar. (1) Sarah Potter, (2) Harriet Chanplin.
