In 1875, "Eugen" Rust was 24 years old and lived in Ellicottville, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. He lived with his wife Emma. His occupation was cabinet maker. The placement of the numbering on this record show that the name above Eugene's (Eva Hudson) is listed as a grand-daughter, but this appears to be a mistake and belongs to the family above his. ^[7]

It is difficult to tell from the formatting who else resided with him, but other Rust family members immediately below his name are Florence (15 years old), Grace (12 years old), Charles (44 years old), Oda (40 years old) and Edwin (57 years old). ^[9]
