Wanda (Robinson) Goode

Biography

I was born in Minot, Ward, North Dakota and lived the first few months of my life in Garrison, McLean, North Dakota where my father's family lived. By the time I was 9 months old, we had moved to Fargo, Cass, North Dakota. When my father graduated from North Dakota State Agricultural College (now NDSU) we headed east again. Just a few weeks before my 7th birthday, we arrived in Midland, Midland, Michigan. My father had been hired by the Dow Chemical Company as a chemist. My mother was also hired by Dow Chemical as a secretary and eventually worked in the legal department for William H. Schutte, attorney. His son, *William D. Schutte who served as the 53rd attorney general of Michigan from 2011 to 2019. I eventually married had children and then went through a divorce after almost 27 years of marriage. I remarried about 7 years later and we moved to Calumet, Houghton, Michigan. We live about 4 miles from Lake Superior and have led an active life here.

I enjoy our two Shih Tzu females, knitting, sewing, painting china and genealogy. My husband and I have spent many years dancing both ballroom and polka style. We have also devoted a lot of time traveling to birding sites throughout Michigan and Wisconsin. I have been researching my family history for almost 60 years now.
