Anne Richard was born in about 1671 in Port Royal to Michel Richard and Madeleine Blanchard, progenitors of one of the largest Acadian families in North America.[1]

Anne and her twin sister, Madeleine, were five weeks old in the census of 1671.[2]

She was counted again in 1678, at age 8.[3]

Anne (14) married Germain Thériot (23) (born about 1662 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France; son of Claude Thériot and Marie Gautrot) in 1686 in Acadie.[1]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Anne Richard, aged 15, lived with her husband, Germain Terriot [sic], aged 23. They owned 1 gun and lived on 6 arpents of cultivable land with 6 cattle and 8 sheep. No children were listed yet.[4]

In 1693, at Minas in the southeastern arm of the Bay of Fundy, Anne Richard, aged 20, lived with her husband, Germain Terriot [sic], aged 30, and their three sons: Claude, aged 7, Jean, aged 3, and Jacques, aged 1 1/2. They owned 1 gun and lived on 8 arpents of cultivable land with 12 cattle, 12 sheep, and 12 pigs.[5]

In 1701, at Dans La Grande Prée, Les Mines, Anne Richard, aged 30, lived with her husband, Germain Thériot, aged 39; 5 boys and 1 girl. The family owned 1 gun and lived on 12 arpents of cultivable land with 10 cattle, 14 sheep, and 8 hogs.[6]

In 1703, at Les Mines, Anne Richard, aged 32, lived with her husband, Germain Thériot, aged 41; 5 boys and 1 girl. The family included 1 arms bearer.[7]

In 1707, at Les Mines, Anne Richard, aged 36, lived with her husband, Germain Thériot, aged 45; 3 boys 14 or older, 3 younger boys, 1 girl 12 or older, and 1 younger girl. The family lived on 6 arpents of cultivable land with 12 cattle, 10 sheep, and 15 hogs.[8]

Anne lived to the age of 75. She died on May 9, 1745, in Grand Pré and was buried the next day.[1][10][11]
