John was born about 1656. He passed away about 1719.

• • His parents were Experience Mitchell and Jane. Mention is made in th Edward Small book that Experience removed to Bridgewater sometime after 1680 with a wife Mary, --Jane, the mother of all his children, having died -- where they lived with his son Edward ^[1]

John was married three times ^{[2] [3]}

1. John & Mary Boney / Bonney were married December 14, 1675. ^[4] Mary was daughter to Thomas and Mary(Hunt?) Bonney. She died in 1677
2. John & Mary Lathrup / Lathrop were married January 14, 1679. Mary died the following year.
3. John & Mary Prior were married May 24 1682.

John and Mary Bonney had one child: ^[2]

John and Mary Prior had the following children, all born in Duxbury, Massachusetts: ^[2]

2. Hannah, b 1683
3. Joseph, b 1684, d 1754, mar probably 1st Bathsheba Phillips. After her death, he married in 1753 Hannah Hersey. He had 12 children.
4. Elizabeth, b a1685, died young
5. Elizabeth, b 1686
6. John, b 1688
7. Sarah, b 1690
8. Esther, b 1692

Research Notes

Edward Small source states that the mother of all of Experience children was 1st wife Jane, who had died, and that he had later married Mary. ^[1]
