Sarah Leggett was born on April 4, 1933 in Benton, Yazoo, Mississippi, United States, daughter of James Wesley Leggett (1906–1989) and Evie LaFlora Leach (1898–1986).[1]

Sarah died on June 13, 2011 in Brandon, Madison, Mississippi, aged 78. She was buried in Cedarlawn Cemetery, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.[1]
