Biography

Ib Skjærbæk was born on 16 April 1878 and his birth is recorded in the Bovling Parish Churchbook.

He was the son of Christian Lauritsen and Kerstan Anders.

His name follows the Danish naming convention of naming the second son after the maternal grandfather, Ib Skjærbæk Jorgensen.

He appears in the 1880 Danish National Census

He passed away on 4 January 1883 and his death is recorded in the Bovling Parish Churchbook.

According to Linda Rose, he was supposed to be watched by his sister, Karen, but he drowned and afterwards his sister died of sadness and shame.
