Elsie Abbie (Lapish) Thompson (1888 - 1969)

Biography

Elsie Abbie Lapish was born on the 11th of November in 1888 in Sombra, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada to Alonzo Lapish and Esther Henry ^[1].

In 1891, Elsie is with her parents, her sister Lena and her paternal uncle Hiram Lapish in Sombra, Bothwell, Ontario, Canada ^[2]. She is noted as 2 years old and is indicated as not being French Canadian.

In 1901, Elsie is listed with her parents and her siblings in Sombra, Bothwell, Ontario, Canada in the 1901 Canadian Census ^[3]. She is noted as being 12 years old, having been in school for 6 months and has the ability to read and write.

On the 6th of September 1911, Elsie Abbie married William James Thompson in Sarnia, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada ^[4].

In 1921, Elsie is listed with her husband, William, as well as her husband's parents Samuel and Rachel in Sarnia, Lambton West, Ontario, Canada on 416 S. Brock Street ^[5].

In the 1931 Canada Census, Elsie is still with her husband, William, but no longer with her in-laws. They are on the same Brock St. address and she is noted as a Homemaker. ^[6]

Elsie Abbie died on the 17th of May 1969 and was buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada ^[7].
