Biography
Louise Langley, daughter of Andrew Langley and Marie Delafosse, was born about June 1848 in Hickory Flat, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.
Research Notes
Laura Vanchiere, a descendant of Francois Hebert, Jr., supplied the information listed below on the division of household goods.
No. 14 Receipt
Louise Langley to Francois Hebert, Jr.
State of Louisiana
Louis Hebert to Francois Hebert, Jr.
Dated June 12, 1877 Recorded May 20, 1910
Division of household goods as apparently divorced by that date.
Signed Louise Langley
Receipts that Louise received money for her half of the household furniture and and $40 for any claim on community property or any separate property. It is assumed their divorce was done in 1877. The courthouse lost all of their records in the fire of 1910 which may explain why these were signed in 1877, but not filed until 1910. It is assumed that Francois refiled the copies he had in his possession.
By 1900, in Calcasieu, Louise was living with her three sons by Louis Doucet.[1]
Louise Langley died on April 6, 1894 in Kinder, Allen Parish, Louisiana. The name of her father was given as Leon Langley but this is incorrect.[2]
