Biography
Col. Thomas Gresham Lamar was the son of Thomas Gresham Lamar and Martha Carey. His first wife was Elizabeth Whatley, and his second wife was Sarah Adam Dunbar, both of whom are buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, GA.
Thomas and Elizabeth's children were:
- 1. Thomas
- 2. A. Whatley, m. 8 Oct. 1868 in Greenville, SC to Bessie W. Webb (youngest daughter of Col. John Webb of Charleston, SC)[1]
Thomas and Sarah's children were:
- 1. Barney Dunbar, m1. Annie Black, m2. Ina Boston (a cousin)
- 2. Calbreth Butler
- 3. Cecelia
- 4. John Carey
