Biography
Sarah Adam Lamar was born on 21 December 1901 in Beech Island, Aiken County, United States. She was the daughter of Barney Dunbar LaMar (1854-1907) and Ina (Boston) LaMar (1873-1963)[1] Sarah's father died in 1907 after which Sarah was reared by her widowed mother.[2][3]
Sarah Adam Lamar was married to Leslie Auston Everett on 21 July 1928 in Clarke County, Georgia.[4] They were the parents of at least 3 children.[5][6][7] Two of the children are likely still living. The third, son Leslie Auston Everett, died in 2018.[8][9]
Sarah earned a degree in economics from Brenau College, Gainesville, Georgia She taught for over 28 years. She was of the Presbyterian faith.[9]
Sarah's husband, Leslie Auston Everett Sr., died in 1957.[10]
Sarah Adam (Lamar) Everett died on 29 July 1994 in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina at the age of 92.[11] She was buried in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, Union County, North Carolina.[9][12]
