Lucius was born in 1898. He was the son of Lucius LaMar and Georgia Hopson. He passed away in 1978.

Obituary for Lucius Mirabeau Lamar III from the "Dallas Morning News" in October 1978.

"Services scheduled for Lucius Lamar - San Antonio - Private graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mission Burial Park for Lucius Mirabeau Lamar III, 80, a decendant of Mirabeau B. Lamar, second president of the Republic of Texas. Lamar, legal counsel and vice president of Chevron Corp., died Wednesday in his home in New Orleans.

Lamar, also a descendant of the late Supreme Court Justice L.Q.C. Lamar, was an honorary member of the Philosophical Society of Texas, which was founded in 1837 by Sam Houston and Mirabeau Lamar, to promote the study of philosophy in the new republic."
