Biography
Thomas was baptized at Wye on 7 November 1551 and was born at Chilham, Kent, England,[citation needed] the son of Thomas Kempe and Amy Moyle.[1]
Marriage and Children
Thomas married twice.
- He married, as his 1st, to Anne Unknown.[1] She was the mother of the first two daughters.
- He married, as his 2nd, to Dorothy Thompson, daughter of John Thompson/Thomson, Esq. of London.[1]

Thomas was knighted at Charterhouse in 1603.[1]
Death and Legacy
Thomas died in 1607[1] at St John at Hampstead, Middlesex, England. Since Sir Thomas had died without any sons to inherit, Olantigh was sold to Sir Timothy Thornhill.[2] On 10 December 1607, his widow, Dorothy, was granted administration, and was re-granted on 23 June 1609.[1] Sir Thomas was buried in the family chapel with his ancestors.[1]

He was buried at the parish church Wye, Kent (England).
A "Traverse of Inquisition" that was taken on John Dryland who died 6 James I (24 Mar 1602/03 - 23 Mar 1603/04), found his son John was heir. Parties were: Sir John Cutts and Anne, his wife, Thomas Chichley and Dorothy, his wife, Sir Dudley Digges and Mary his wife, Sir Henry Skipwith and Anne [sic], his wife, daughters and co-heirs of Sir Thomas Kempe, deceased. A long list of properties were involved.[3]
