George Howarth was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

George Thomas Howarth was born on 19 Apr 1851 in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia.[1]

George married Eliza Marmont (1856 - 1940) on 21 Feb 1873 in Goulburn, New South Wales. [2]

Quick search on NSW BD&M site (not viewing the actual certificate) shows a George T Howarth birth in 1851. Father - George. Mother - Mary A.

His father: George Howarth Born: 1823, NSW AUS; Died: 1861 Died at Bolong NSW AUS [Biog Item No. 910232815] (This as per notes by the Australian Society of genealogists) George Howarth, daughter of John Howarth & Mary Howarth; Abode: Parramatta [NSW AUS]; 5 Feb [1823], Baptised 6 Jul 1823, by [Rev] Samuel Marsden, Registered at St John's Church of England Parramatta, Cumberland [NSW AUS] [Biog Item No. 300111481]

Would like George's Birth certificate details confirmed/verified before adding his parents, especially since I cant see any indication of mothers maiden name in my quick search results.

Graham, have returned to this profile. A little more detail for you on George (father) and George Thomas). George (father) was born 5 Feb 1823 in Parramatta. Page 50 of the Marriage Register of St Johns Parramatta lists George's marriage to Mary Nash, 21 Jan 1842. George married again on 28 Feb 1848 to Mary Ann Harris (born c1832 in Kent). This marriage took place in St Saviors Church Goulburn. Mary Ann Harris is George Thomas's mother. She married again after George died to a William Harris. The copy of her death certificate (1900) lists her children from both marriages. George Thomas is listed as being 48 years of age and from her first marriage.

Graham, in my Howarth Family Book, there is a copy of the baptism certificate for George Thomas' father George. It states that George was born 5 Feb 1823, baptised 6 July 1823 at St John's Parramatta. His parents were John and Mary Howarth. Both were cotton weavers, and both were transported to Australia (at different times - him on the Tottenham, she on the Maria). Her maiden name was Saunders. George married (1) Mary Nash on 21 Jan 1842. He married (2) Mary Ann Harris on 28 Feb 1848.
