Biography
James Henry was born in 1831 at Waterloo Township, Upper Canada (now part of Ontario)[1]. His parents are believed to be James Henry (1802–1845) and Agnes Ellis (1809–1851) who were both originally from Ireland[2].
James married Ann Jane Oak on 26 Feb 1851 at Galt, Waterloo County[2] and after they married they lived at the farm where Ann's family lived at Puslinch Township. Ann's father had died in 1849 but her mother and five sisters were still living at the farm in the 1851 census. In the 1851 census James (21) and Ann (24) were living at Puslinch with a daughter Louisa (spelled Lewesa in the census record) (1)[3].
James and Ann had at least eleven children.
James died in 1896 age 65 at Huron County, Ontario[1] and was buried at Westfield Methodist Cemetery[4].
