Biography
Hugh Gunnison[1] was born about 1612 (based on estimated date of marriage), origins unknown.
He emigrated in 1635 based on the date of admission to the Boston church. He resided initially in Boston, but removed to Kittery in 1651.

He was an innkeeper and vintner. He was admitted to the Boston church 22 Mar 1635/6 called "servant to our brother Richard Bellingham;" his wife, Sarah was admitted 15 May 1647.
He was one of 58 Boston men disarmed for supporting Anne Hutchinson and Rev. John Wheelwright, but signed the petition 22 Nov 1637 to have his name removed.
He married first by 1637 Elizabeth ____; she died in Boston 25 Jan 1645/6.
- A 2009 Register article makes the case for her being Elizabeth Kilbourne, daughter of Thomas Kilbourne and Francis Moody.[2]
He married second by 15 May 1647 Sarah (Blower) Lynn, daughter of Thomas Blower and Alice Frost, and widow of Henry Lynn. She married by 1 Jul 1661 John Mitchell, and later Francis Morgan.
He died between 15 Sep 1659 and 31 Mar 1660.
Inventory of his estate was not taken until 4 Nov 1718.
