Sue (Gambie) Boutle

Biography

Sue (Gambie) Boutle was born in Sawston, Cambridgeshire, England.

Sue has been a member of the England Project for over 1,000 days.

I was born in Sawston, Cambridgeshire in 1957 and lived there for the first 18 years of my life before I married. We then moved to Harston, Cambridgeshire and lived there for 7 years before our first son was born. Living in a mobile home with a baby was not ideal, so we moved to Comberton, Cambridgeshire. A year or so later, my husband was offered a job but we had to relocate to Oxford where we lived for the next 27 years. We now live in the Heyfords, a quiet location in Northamptonshire and loving our surroundings.

I am interested in finding out about people who lived in Northampton particularly the Heyfords and also my own family. One was the inventor of the Ice rink among other things, another invented the Gamgee dressing - a surgical dressing (lint) which stopped a lot of infection and others were doctors, professors or vets, along with the agricultural labourers that make up my family tree.

I'm a member of the England Project and take care of the Northamptonshire Profiles along with Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.
