In the Pomona Hall at Kumeu on Saturday evening a large number of residents assembled to farewell Mr. and Mrs. F. Bockman and family, who for the past seventeen years have been resident in the district. On behalf of their many friends Mr. J. Campbell presented Mr. and Mrs. Bockman with a handsome crystal bowl and expressed the deep regret felt throughout the district at their departure. Mr. G. Adams and Mr. J. A. Lambden also spoke, referring, to the useful service rendered in public service and church and Sunday school work. Betty and Wayne Kipling presented Mrs. Bockman and Miss Nancy Bockman with beautiful bouquets of spring flowers. Mr. and Mrs. T. Campbell were in charge of the evening's entertainment, which was spent in games, competitions and enjoying musical items by Mr. Frank Reddell. The ladies served a dainty supper.
