Biography
John Esmonde was the 5th Baronet, so was clearly younger than the 3rd Baronet[1], who is estimated to have been born around 1665, and older than the 6th Baronet. As he did not marry until 1742, several years after he succeeded to the title, he may have been substantially younger than the 3rd Baronet.
The 5th Baronet is said to have been the son[1] of Sir Laurence Esmonde, 2nd Bt,, by Lucia, dau of Hon Richard Butler of Kilcash.
Sir John died s.p.m. in 1758 and was succeeded in the baronetage by his younger brother Walter.
