Do you have some examples of me adding information “often without (required) sourcing” so they can be corrected?

you added comments on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gilmer-243 that weren't sourced in the materials

Hi, thanks for adding info on slaveowners. If you could add this category  Category:USBH Heritage Exchange (add [[ ]] brackets around that text, I forgot the "no wiki" code for profile comments) to any slave or slaveowner profile you work on, that would be great. Then the US Black Heritage Project's Heritage Exchange team can further edit as needed (add more categories, etc) You are welcome to also add the county-level slaveowner cat, as you did.... also, generally no need to write more in the bio, unless adding a lot of sources, or names of slaves, etc. If you would like to work on creating profiles for enslaved ancestors, thus increasing their visibility on WT/Google to be found by family, see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Documenting_Enslaved_People_in_WikiTree  (the screenshots are a bit outdated, but I think it's close enough) Feel free to reach out if you need any help, thanks!

Do you know if there are analogous projects focused on non-u.s. Black heritage?

Sort of, it's still "under" the US Black Heritage umbrella, so to speak.... we have started but not gotten very far yet with ensuring all slave owners recorded in the 1850/1860 "slave schedules" have WikiTree profiles/nuclear families added. (at least the family members who are on the corresponding 1850/1860 censues) We started out using WikiTree Free Space Profiles to track, but we will use Google Sheets for any county not already listed here. Do you have a particular region or family line of interest? (or.... Any interest in Florida? I think that's the only state we have all set up on Google Sheets.  :-) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YgbaxkL9fq_1pEyK-dIj3zjMlM7Yk0GtPqvNFCLXDUc/edit?gid=1393032221#gid=1393032221 )

I hope that answers your question, let me know if not!

Edit, forgot to add the Free Space Page link.... https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage_Project_1850_and_1860_Slave_Schedule_Index

Also this one, for congressman, from Washington Post open-source research https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B-eNGEv-y3UVUZxqmHRcQfngkHt_8ECyc-InkTXexSM/edit?gid=719847385#gid=719847385 and edited for WT use. If you could look through these pages, that would be great.... https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage:_Heritage_Exchange_Portal and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources
Hello Jayil,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
