Based on the dates of birth and death on this profile, Emery-75 is actually John Emery, Jonathan's nephew and son of Jonathan's much older half-brother John Emery.
John Emery was the son of John Emery and his wife Mrs. Mary Shatswell Webster Emery. He was born in Newbury, Massachusetts 12 September 1656: "John, s. John, 12: 7m: 1656. PR18" [1]
In 1678, John and his father signed the Oath of Allegiance in Newbury, Massachusetts: "It hath pleased his Majesty to notify authorities of the colony of Massachusetts Bay...that the oath of Allegiance...be..taken by all his subjects within this colony who are of years to take an oath." Anyone refusing to take the oath was fined
John Emery married three times:
- EMERY, John and Mary Sawyer, June 13, 1683
- EMERY, John (sr. int.) and Abigail Bartlet, May 27, 1700. Abigail petitioned for divorce in 1710 for cruelty.[2]
- EMERY, John and (Mrs. int.) Mary March, Jan. 2, 1723-4. John takes her without any estate, refusing to pay debts of her former husband Capt. James March.

Joshua Brown, John Ordway, Samuel Bartlett and John Emery were chosen December 24 1695 to form a committee "..to finish the metting house and the ministry house according to the instructions they had last year."
Death: EMERY, John, July 14, 1730 (in his 74th y. G. R. 15.)
Buried Sawyer Hill Cemetery, Newburyport, Massachusetts.
