Research Notes
There are many land deeds for the Doucet children of both Louise Langley and Mary E. Hebert in Mercedes, Hidalgo County, TX. One deed in particular from Jesse Doucet to John F. Gauge dated October 31, 1919 states Jesse Doucet is the son of the deceased Louis Doucet. These land deeds as well as the adoption record for the children of Mary E. Hebert are on Family Search. The sale of the lands by several children of Louis Doucet verifies that the children of both Louise and Mary were half-siblings.
Also, Jesse Manuel Doucet states that Mrs. Lucille Simons is his next of kin in his WWII draft record. Lucille was the daughter of Louis Doucet and Mary E. Hebert.
