Biography
WILLIAM A. DORRINGTON, 74, of 385 Granville St., New Glasgow, died Friday at home. Born in Guysborough he was a son of the late Lewis and Lillian (Cameron) Dorrington. He was a retired coal miner, having worked at the Allan and McBain mines in Pictou County. He was a member of Second United Baptist Church and a former member of its brotherhood. Surviving are a daughter, Mona Cromwell, New Glasgow; a son, Robert, Victoria, B.C.; 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Also surviving are three sisters, Gertrude (Mrs. Wilbert Sheppard), Halifax; Bessie Connors, Truro; and Lillian Skinner, Guysborough. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dora Lawrence; two sisters, Ida and Ella, and three brothers, James, George and Lewis. The remains are resting in R.H. Porter's Funeral Home with visiting after 7pm. Sunday. Funeral will be 2pm Monday in Second Baptist Church. Interment will be in Brookside cemetery.[1]
