Biography

Thomas was a Boatwright.

Thomas Carr was born in 1685.

Thomas (32) married Martha Grundy (1717) in 28 April 1718 in Nantucket by George Bunker.[1]

In 1718, Thomas bought land from Jedidiah and Abigail Fitch.[2]

In 1729, Thomas bought land from Richard Macy.[3]

In 1729, Thomas paid the courts a fine for his wife Martha, who sold cider and rum to an Indian woman.[4]

In 1732, Thomas bought land from Damaris Coffin.[5]

In 1737, Thomas bought land from Simeon Bunker and his wife Huldah Bunker.[6]

In 1738, Thomas sold land to Humphrey Ellis.[7]

In 1739, Thomas bought land from Bachelor Hussey and Abigail Hussey.[8]

In 1741, Thomas bought land from Ebenezer and Christian Allen.[9]

In 1746, Thomas and his wife Martha sold land to Simeon Bunker.[10]

In 1748, Thomas bought land on Nantucket from Nathaniel Allen.[11]

Thomas (64) married Mary Duanna (1749) in 1750.

Their daughter was Mary Carr (1752–1791).

In 1752, Thomas and his wife Mary sold land to Jethro Coleman.[12]

In 1754, Thomas and his wife Mary sold land to Jonathan Ramsdell.[13]

Thomas died on August 22, 1756 in Nantucket, Massachusetts Bay, aged 71.

Probate

The will of Thomas Carr of Sherborn, boatwright, was dated 15 September 1755 and proved on 1 October 1756 in Nantucket. He mentioned his wife Mary (executrix), his daughter Mary, and his sons-in-law (stepsons), Uriah Bunker, Obed Bunker, and Job Bunker, and his friend George Hussey (executor).[14]

His inventory was taken on 14 March 1757.[15]
