Biography
16. Jonathan Callaway106, born 1760 in Somerset, MD106; died 1834 in Monroe Co., GA106. He was the son of 32. William Callaway and 33. Margaret Moore. He married 17. Sarah Dennis.= who was born about 1760 in Maryland and died in Monroe County, Georgia in 1860.
In 1783, Jonathan's father William Callaway, shortly before his death, entered into a bond with his children, Jonathan and Elizabeth Calloway. The amount was for £1,500, and William agreed to divide his personal estate between these two children.[1]
Some time between 1788 [2] and 1799[3], Jonathan and his family moved to Georgia. He was living in Monroe County, Georgia, as of the 1830 Census. (ref: 107). He died there in 1834.

Notes for Jonathan Callaway: Callaway, Peter,Somerset Co.,19th Aug., 1738; 26th Jan., 1739-40. To son Thomas, ex. and hrs., 100 A. “Callaway Invention.” To son John and hrs., 50 A. “Cockland” adjoining land belonging to Thomas Wuller. To son Joshua, 50 A. “Cockland.” To son Benjamin, 63 A. “Cockland.” To son Peter, 1s. To son Joseph, 63 A. “Cockland.” To Wife Sarah, personalty. Testator desires that sons John, Thomas, Benjamin, Joseph and Joshua shall together buy 50 A. of good land and give to son Samuel. Testator desires that his sons be of age at 18 yrs. but if their mother does not marry, wishes them to stay with her until they are 21. Test: John Williams, John Culver, Edmund Collins. 22. 133.
Jonathan was born about 1760. He passed away about 1840.
