Genealogical Interests
I was adopted at birth, but DNA is to Harry Leonard Burt b 1944 and to Juanita Carol Butler. I am still trying to find information on Harry's first wife whom I believe is the mother of my 2 half siblings Harry Burt IV and Tina Burt born in Chicago?, and lived in Valparaiso, Indiana. and her 2 children. I would love to connect with them.

Biography
I am 56 years old and was adopted by Wayne Aten Palmer Sr and Lynne Louise Fernald. Last year I started my journey into finding out who my biological family was, and answer all those questions adoptees have. I did my DNA on Ancestry, 23andMe, and My Heritage and was given listing of almost 9,000 people my DNA connects to, and started the daunting task of trying to figure out the 4 family groups that I belonged to. I also uploaded my DNA to Gedmatch.com and did DNA test for CRI genetics. I stumbled across a maternal cousin (sister-in-law) to a friend of mine, who has been doing genealogy since she was 11 and willing to help me. It took 4 months for me to get my original birth certificate from the state of Illinois (born in Chicago, Cook, Illinois at Grant Hospital) and it had a different father listed than who we figured out I was DNA linked to. There is very few close family that has done DNA testing, so I did my oldest daughters, and currently waiting on results for my mother Juanita Carol Butler and my half brother Dale Louis Smith's DNA test through Ancestry. I had first contact with my half sister Beatrice Holland who said they knew about me and were looking for me for years, and then made contact with my mother and 2 Aunts. I visited my mother Easter 2021 and it went well. My father Harry Leonard Burt doesn't want to know me. I'm still trying to track down his other 2 children (mother unsure) to connect with my siblings. I'm also currently at a brick wall with a couple of ancestors, but not giving up yet.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
I would like to suggest that the Canada project could fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
