Elizabeth Brisbin was born about 15 August 1836 in Huron County, Ohio, United States, daughter of Robert Brisbin (abt. 1809–abt. 1896) and Phebe Jane Call (abt. 1812–abt. 1901).[1]
In 1850, Elizabeth (13) was living in Sherman Township, Huron County with her parents, Robert (40) and Phebe (37); and her siblings Leonartha (20), James H (17), Levi (15), Francis M (11), Elen P (9), Eugene (7), Albert (5), Charles (2), and William L (1 month). [2]
Elizabeth (18) and John Ford (25) were married on 11 December 1854 in Groton, Erie County, Ohio.[3] John was born on 5 May 1829 in England, United Kingdom. Their known children were:
- Mary Celia Ford (1855–1922)
- William Henry Ford (~1858–aft. 1924)
- Phoebe Ellen Ford (1862–1927)
- Robert Bion Ford (1865–1908)
- Harriet Amelia Ford (1868–1937)
- Alta Marie Ford (1871–1958)
- Quincy Albertis Ford (1874–1933)
In 1860, Elizabeth (23) was living on a farm in Plain Township, Wood with her husband, John (30); their daughter, Celia (4); and their son William (2). [4]
In 1870, Elizabeth (33) was living in Plain Township, with her husband, John (40) and their children, Celia (14), William (12), Ellen (7), Robert (4), and Harriet (2). [5]
In about 1880, the family left Ohio for Dragoon Township, Osage County, Kansas.[6] Three weeks after that, they were also enumerated in Kinsley, Edwards County, Kansas.[7]
Finally, they settled in Ward 2 of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. They were enumerated there in the state census of 1885.[8]
Elizabeth died in December 1889 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, aged about 53. She was buried in Topeka Cemetery, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas.[1]
