Biography
Andreas, aka Wilhelm or "William", was born in 1864. He was the son of Andreas Braumann and Auguste Müller. He was born 18 June 1864 and baptized in Barleben, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany on 10 July 1864.[1] His birth name was Andreas Friedrich Wilhelm Braumann. His parents were listed as Johann Friedrich Andreas Braumann and Friederike Auguste Müller.
He came to the U.S. about 1888.
He married Louise Opperman on 01 May 1890 in Iroquois county, Illinois.[2] The marriage record listed him as born in Germany, his father's name as Andrew and his mother's name as Augusta Miller.
They had six children.
In 1920, they were in Brenton township, Ford county, Illinois.[3]
He passed away in 1949 at the home of his daughter Elsie in Gilman, Iroquois, Illinois.[4] The obituary listed the exact date of his birth in Germany which matches that from the baptism record source.
Surname
He was born as "Braumann" in Germany but most records in the U.S. list him as "Brauman." He was listed as Braumann on the 1900 census and his marriage record.
