Documents show POW Diyatawala Ceylon transported on Bavarian ship Married Johanna(Known name - no documents) Beukes. Born 1888 Thrilled to have found some family names!

Met verwysing na die huwelik konneksie gemaak tussen Pieter Francis Ernst (1859-1885) en Carolina Elizabeth Beukes (1857-): Hersien dit asseblief aangesien hy op 21 jaar getroud is met Anna Margaretha Cornelia (Beukes) van der Merwe (1856-1910). Hy sterf daarna op 26 jaar terwyl hy steeds getroud was met Anna. Hy sou dus voor daardie tyd met Carolina getroud moes gewees het, wat baie onwaarskynlik is. Baie dankie by voorbaat. Piet

Hi Ria, you incorrectly added the profile of Muller-1429 to to this baptismal image, which only the profile of the brother Hilgard Muller (abt.1783-) should be connect to. I've made similar mistakes in the past, no issue there. If you really need to add the already mentioned source in the comment box to the incomplete bio, just click on FamilySearch link and then when opened go below to the second tab (information), then {slight scroll downwards} click on Copy Citation - now add (paste) the source info behind the baptism date (under a heading "Baptism") using the big 'C' in the ribbon to the right above the editing window. As stated before - no need for the <wiki > </ no Wiki> stuff. This <ref > </ref > will suffice (of course also follow project protocol). See here for instructions in Afrikaans. Kind regards P.s. I have now added the sources as reference and also the full transcriptions to both profiles: Antonie Michael (Mulder) Muller (1779-1843) and Hellegart (Múller) Muller (abt.1783-) ...

Hi Ria, please do not remove this text from the bio's of profiles: <references / > {without the space between the last / >} - and replace it with this text: <nowiki>[Added by [Botha-5861] on 9 October 2021 ]</nowiki><ref>Probate</ref>. It doesn't make sense at all, and when you remove the above code, no references will appear. It is really not that difficult, Just add the source beneath the above code and follow up with your WikiTree-ID (which is Botha-5861 between double square brackets [ [ ] ] {without the spaces between the brackets}. and the date of your edit.

Hi Ria, could you just take a look at my comments in blue on Grözinger-20 and his spouse Heijns-42 please? If the references support any facts in the profile, they should be inserted behind the facts using the big 'C' directly above the editing frame in the ribbon above it. If not, then they should go to the profiles that they belong to (i.e. family or children). Kindly, Philip

Hi Ria, I saw that you still have issues (on Dafel-8 for example) trying to add sources to profiles. Please see here how to edit profiles, putting sources under headings, and using the big 'C' in the ribbon directly above the bio in editing mode.

I’ve noticed that you seem to have South African Roots like me, may I give you some tips for South African research?

In South African research we have a few quirks and rules ~ a particular one is to please use the correct Country Name as was used at the time of the event. Another one is Name fields on profiles.

Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project? Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful. Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eighteenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources. A few handy links:

• Getting Started.
• Adding to WikiTree.
• Pre-1700 Quiz (self-certifying in order to understand better how to do pre-1700 genealogical work on WikiTree.
• What are duplicates? Why should and how can they be avoided?.

(In Afrikaans) - in Suid-Afrika, Nederland en elders word die tussenvoegsel in vanne met klein letters gespel, tensy dit anders op die primêre rekords gespel word, byvoorbeeld van der Merwe, van der Walt, van den Berg, du Preez, de Villiers ens. Die vanne wat aangemaak word met tussenvoegsels in hoofletters (dit gebeur automaties in WikiTree) , kan jy regmaak deur dit in “edit” mode te verander in 'n van met klein tussenvoegsels (met as rede aangee dat dit die konvensie is vir Afrikaanse vanne), en dan weer te “save”.

I have found a match Catharina Levina Wessels born Botha, born about 1888 Natal, died 17 May 1918 Parklane Nursing Home, Johannesburg, managed by Herman Wessels I tried to copy the Id to merge but it refers me to the Trusted List. Cathrina Levina Botha married a Wessels from Wilgehaam. She was the 9th child of Hester Germina Antonetta Botha nee van Rooyen and Philip Rudolph Botha. Can you please steer me in the correct direction?
