It is once again time for our annual Italy Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
âąIf you would like to continue as a project member
âąWhat team(s) are you a member of and are you happy with your current teams, or do you want to change?
âąWhat sort of activity level do you feel should be required of everyone, in order to maintain their current project membership? (The current requirement is to maintain active membership on at least one project team and make significant improvements to at least one Italian profile annually)
âąDo you have any suggestions for improving the project?
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we donât hear from you within the next three weeks weâll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Italy Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
On behalf of the Italy Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Italian profiles!
Kathy, Italy Project Member

I notice on the death certificate that he is named James Christain Renew, but you obviously have better sources. So I assume it is the same person. (I am still getting the hang of Wikitree) I will upload his headstone. With Regards Peter

Baie dankie by voorbaat. Piet

If you want to practice - Try using the 'C' behind a fact click with the cursor behind a fact. Then click on the 'C'. Then insert the text in the space that the 'C' has created ( between the <ref> and the </ref> )....

Iâve noticed that you seem to have South African Roots like me, may I give you some tips for South African research?
In South African research we have a few quirks and rules ~ a particular one is to please use the correct Country Name as was used at the time of the event. Another one is Name fields on profiles.
Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project? Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful. Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eighteenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources. A few handy links:
- Getting Started.
- Adding to WikiTree.
- Pre-1700 Quiz (self-certifying in order to understand better how to do pre-1700 genealogical work on WikiTree.
- What are duplicates? Why should and how can they be avoided?.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to let me know.
Kindest Regards, Pam
PS Did you know that Tags become clickable links to others researching those names, or places, that you are interested in. They also control what is included in the family activity emails from WikiTree.

Thanking you
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.
Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?
I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. To contact me, be sure to use the "reply" link for this comment so that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.
Sometimes links don't work in emails. Â If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

I have found a match Catharina Levina Wessels born Botha, born about 1888 Natal, died 17 May 1918 Parklane Nursing Home, Johannesburg, managed by Herman Wessels I tried to copy the Id to merge but it refers me to the Trusted List. Cathrina Levina Botha married a Wessels from Wilgehaam. She was the 9th child of Hester Germina Antonetta Botha nee van Rooyen and Philip Rudolph Botha. Can you please steer me in the correct direction?
Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the worldâs trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a ânameâ back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
