Biography
William was the son of William Baynard and Mary (Splatt) Baynard of Edisto Island, South Carolina.[1][2]
Marriage
William married Elizabeth Grimball on 1 February 1753 in St Helena's Parish, South Carolina. [3][4]

Death
William Baynard of Edisto Island wrote his Will on 18 November 1772, and it was proved 5 February 1773. He mentions his wife Elizabeth, sons Thomas and William Baynard, daughter Elizabeth Ann Baynard, cousin William Jackson, and Miss Sarah Fry. His executors were his two cousins and friend Archibald Calder, James Clark, and Ephraim Mikell.[6]
Slaves
William Baynard was a slaveholder. His probate inventory is not found, however his will named 20 enslaved persons.[6]
