Biography

Born and raised in Phoenix, except for 18 months living as a dependent at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. Attended North Phoenix High School, graduating in 1964. Attended Phoenix College, graduating in 1966. Attended Arizona State University, graduating in 1968. Worked at the Phoenix Public Library from 1966 to 1990, while getting a Master's degree in education from Arizona State University (1980) and a Master of Library Science from the University of Arizona (1989). In 1972 married Donna Weiss, and had one son (Robert) in 1982. In 1990 moved to Long Island, pursuing a 25 year career as an academic systems librarian. During this time, wrote three books and more than 80 articles, mainly about library technology. Currently retired but still writing.
