As I carried out all of my research into my Fletcher/Stock family trees over five years ago it may take me some time to get back into the swing of importing information. I did most of my research using the Genesunited website and ended up with a family tree with over 2000 individuals, but unfortuneately didn't record as many sources as I should have done! Having said that I didn't have a lot of feedback pointing out any glaring errors.

Thank you for supporting the Categorization Project and our mission to manage the category hierarchy and encourage the use of categorization.

My name is Roy Walmsley. I’ve recently accepted the role of Categorization Project Leader. I’d like to say a little about myself first and then ask you to say a little about yourself, so that we can get to know each other.

Although I’ve not been a formal member of the Categorization Project (it has been closed for some time now) I have been working on categories for a few years now. I’m an active member of the England Project (I live in England) and have been involved with their Categories team for which I am currently a Co-Project Coordinator. I still love regular research and have a couple of small one name and one place studies.

You are listed as having the Categorization Badge. Are you still active in categories and do you want to continue with the project? Do you specialize in any category area or have any specific roles? More generally, are you actively involved in any other projects?

Hi always nice to find cousins here on the tree. and was totally thrilled to see you also have a Welsh connection, mine is through my mothers Bowen Family her Great grandparents the Edwards William & Mary (Jones) Edwards both born in Flintshire, Wales and that's where I stop in Wales, so far can't be digging in the right places. if you can offer some guidance I would really appreciate that.

I have also seen some updates to the Powys online databases. I began to search yesterday, there is a great amount of information on most of families in Brecon. I'm think I found some more information on the Burghills, they were another compainon of Newmarche. Newmarche was a border baron in Normandy, so it kinds of makes sense for William the Conquouer to appoint him to the Welsh boarder in the same role. I've found 3 families in proximity to Newmarche lands in Normandy.

I am so glad that I queried you about your correction and thank you again for taking the time to respond.

I have already started to rectify these and will check this page regularly in future.

Is it an algorithm that finds these?

I wish that I had known about this months ago. Clearly it is time to further explore the drop down menus on the tabs.

Skimming across this information, specifically about this area Pembroke Dock. You recall the closest y-DNA match you found was with a Bowen. When I looked into that particular Bowen line it, it was also from Pembroke Dock. Look at the 1st residence line on the link below.

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

• Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
• Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.

Interesting! When I was a kid my friends and siblings and I played inside the bunkers at an abandoned Nike-Hercules missile site. When we were teens we played paint-ball guns in and around the bunkers. Some of those went many floors underground.
