Biography
Thomas Gilford Atkinson was born on May 20, 1854 in Jalapa, Monroe, Tennessee, United States, son of Josiah William Atkinson (1819–1889) and Elizabeth Malinda Watson (1821–1866).
Tom (22) married Vina Mason (17) (born on December 13, 1859 in Monroe; daughter of Anderson Mason and Lucinda (McDonald) Atkinson) on December 12, 1876 in Monroe, Tennessee, United States.[1]

In 1880, Thomas lived in Jalapa, Monroe, Tennessee, United States with his wife and two (2) children.[2]
They lived in Mount Vernon, Monroe, Tennessee, United States in 1900 with seven (7) children[3] and Civil District 4, Monroe, Tennessee, United States in 1920 and 1930.[4][5]
In 1944, his wife, Vina, died in Tellico Plains, Monroe, Tennessee, United States.[6]
He died on 28 August 1945, in Tellico Plains, Monroe, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 90,[7] and was buried in New Providence Cemetery, Tellico Plains, Monroe, Tennessee, United States.[8]
