Samuel Allen (abt. 1679 - 1730)

Biography

Samuel Allen was the son of Edward and Sarah (Kimball) Allen of Ipswich, born about 1679. His parents went to Suffield, Connecticut, about 1678.^[1]

Samuel Allen of Suffield married Anna Hayward at Concord, Middlesex, Province of Massachusetts Bay on 23 November 1706.^[2]Their marriage was also recorded in Suffield, Connecticut.^[3]

Samuel was called a weaver in some deeds and yeoman in others. On 21 March 1717 he sold his property in Suffield and moved to what is now Morris County, New Jersey.^[4]

Samuel died on 28 November 1730 in Hanover, New Jersey.^[5]

His wife was possibly the Ann Allen, widow, admitted in 1743 to the Presbyterian Church at Morristown, New Jersey and a member there until 1756.^[1]
