Charles Brütsch

[edit]

Could you check the VIAF of Charles Brütsch (Q110215050): conflation - don't use? It seems conflated, and probably the GND should be moved elsewhere and a new one should be created. Thanks, --Epìdosis 09:33, 7 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

This conflated item has been created in 2021 by Reinheitsgebot. It includes at least two authors:
Two more hits:
  • fl. 1941: Charles Brütsch-Gurini, Zürich 4, Stüdliweg 4 (GND 126239703); could be the parson
  • 1907-1990: unknown author; possibly incorrect year of death
We have to wait till User:Thomas Kerboul (BGE) is back to check IdRef 058596992. --Kolja21 (talk) 10:21, 7 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I corrected https://www.idref.fr/058596992 to match Charles Brütsch (Q136969629): Swiss theologian (1905-1971); according to his own dissertation and several other sources (1, 2) he was born in Nîmes, not Buch. I have created https://www.idref.fr/295143177 for Charles Brütsch (Q137114744): Swiss journalist and poet (1907-1954). I am unable to tell if either is the editor of Parlamentarische Logik, Taktik und Rhetorik. --Thomas Kerboul (BGE) (talk) 13:50, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for looking into it. I've corrected GND 1120360501 accordingly. Parlamentarische Logik, Taktik und Rhetorik is part of the series Schriften zur Lebensweisheit (DNB 580080447) so it could be the theologian but I've found no proof. --Kolja21 (talk) 15:24, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Asterisks

[edit]

What should we do with these Tp6 masterpieces created by DE-7?

Found through https://qlever.dev/wikidata/430NLF (list of Tp6 created by DE-7 and not used in Wikidata, 69270 results as of now) :) --Epìdosis 12:58, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes, these are the GNDs the Göttingen State and University Library is famous for. I would ignore them for now. If they apply to one person, I can individualize them, but they’re often ambiguous. GND 1157573118 e.g., is used for different authors:

Ozerov

[edit]

The only connected work of https://d-nb.info/gnd/1055246932 seems to point Ozerov Ivan Khristoforovich (Q4332116): Russian economist (1869-1942), and I find no homonyms in the dates 1640-1717. Could you check? Thanks, --Epìdosis 16:00, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

DE-7. No comment. Created for:
  • Za čto my boremsja? / Otkryrki I. Ch. Ozerova (Moskva 1915)
I have corrected the error and reported the duplicate. --Kolja21 (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Coraboeuf

[edit]

Similar strange case: https://prometheus.lmu.de/gnd/105525515X has works pointing to Jean Baptiste Corabœuf (Q3170533): French geographer, despite the strange dates 1661-1741 in https://d-nb.info/gnd/105525515X. Could you check? Thanks, --Epìdosis 16:03, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

DE-7 without citation created for:
  • Mémoire sur les opérations géodésiques des Pyrénées et la comparaison du niveau des deux mers / ... Coraboeuf (Paris 1831)
I have no idea why his name was written "Čoraboeuf" and where the incorrect vital data came from. ✓ Done --Kolja21 (talk) 19:44, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hotman

[edit]

https://d-nb.info/gnd/1055140476 (1803-1873) in https://prometheus.lmu.de/gnd/1055140476 has only publications before he was born; cf. Antoine Hotman (Q2854060): French advocate and writer. Thanks, --Epìdosis 06:31, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

✓ Done Thanks. Again DE-7 without citation. This kind of errors should not happen. --Kolja21 (talk) 16:40, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Galli da Bibbiena

[edit]

https://d-nb.info/gnd/1055475966 again evidently wrong dates (1657-1743), he is Giuseppe Galli da Bibbiena (Q872778): Italian artist (1696-1757) but they took the dates of the father Ferdinando Galli-Bibiena (Q701319): Italian painter (1657-1743). Thanks, --Epìdosis 22:25, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I am now experimenting this federated query: https://w.wiki/KHSE (GND persons born in Italy and absent in Wikidata); FYI @Thomas Kerboul (BGE): maybe you can adapt it for some purpose. Buona notte da Napoli, Epìdosis 22:35, 24 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Corrected and reported the duplicate. Thanks for the query (4,545 results) & enjoy Naples. --Kolja21 (talk) 01:23, 25 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Comma between surname and name

[edit]

I started working on https://w.wiki/KeR7 considering meta:Ukraine's Cultural Diplomacy Month 2026; I found https://d-nb.info/gnd/1376941260 (= Q12107512: no description) without a comma between surname and name; is it worth reporting? Thanks, --Epìdosis 11:03, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

The field "Persönlicher Name" was intentionally selected by the Austrian National Library (instead of "Nachname", "Vornamen"). Therefore, it is not considered an error, despite the fact that most librarians would handle it differently. --Kolja21 (talk) 11:19, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks! Yes, in fact it seemed intentional. Epìdosis 11:20, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
BTW, the two updated federated queries I am using to find GND IDs of Ukrainian people not yet in Wikidata are https://w.wiki/Kiso (based on the presence of vyč in the name) and https://qlever.dev/wikidata/N03jwL (based on the country code XA-UA). Epìdosis 11:06, 3 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Heiss

[edit]

https://d-nb.info/gnd/1038874726 seemingly was born in 1809 and died in 1811, probably these are activity dates. Thanks! --Epìdosis 09:38, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Of course you're right. Kallías (Q108730240) cites as source:
✓ Done It's a list of his performances, without any biographical information. I corrected the GND and created Heiß (Q138876465): no description. --Kolja21 (talk) 15:05, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Keine Dubletten-Warnung mehr bei GND ID (P227)?

[edit]

--Kolja21 (talk) 12:39, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I also fear the same, since the property has many millions of values; although I remember WMDE was working on a better system to check constraints, so maybe it will be fixed in the next months. Epìdosis 12:49, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Wrong dates - last digit missing

[edit]

Hi! With https://qlever.dev/wikidata/AJ8z48 I have discovered some dates of birth from GND which seem clearly wrong:

✓ Done Born 1899 (HathiTrust). @Thomas Kerboul (BGE): IdRef missing: https://www.sudoc.fr/06385208X --Kolja21 (talk) 19:56, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Born 1983 (Diss.). --Kolja21 (talk) 19:56, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Unknown. "Der Lebenslauf ist in der Online-Version aus Gründen des Datenschutzes nicht enthalten" (Diss. 2020). --Kolja21 (talk) 20:34, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Born 1960 (helveticarchives.ch). --Kolja21 (talk) 21:30, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Born 1927 (NDL). --Kolja21 (talk) 21:43, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Unknown. --Kolja21 (talk) 21:52, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Unknown. --Kolja21 (talk) 21:58, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Born 1990 (Diss.). --Kolja21 (talk) 22:05, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Unknown (Diss. 1985). --Kolja21 (talk) 22:33, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

It seems like the final X is missing ... could you have a look? Thanks! --Epìdosis 15:10, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

That’s what I thought at first, too. But these are human (unpredictable) not technical errors. --Kolja21 (talk) 19:57, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hans Rudolph

[edit]

Could you find the GND of the Hans Rudolph author of Deutschsprachiger Arbeitskreis für Krankenhaushygiene? Cf. deprecated VIAF in Hans Rudolph (Q1582148): German historian of antiquity (1907-1980). Thanks! --Epìdosis 15:16, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

✓ Done I created Hans Rudolph (Q139593177): Dr. med.; II. Chirurgische Klinik, Diakoniekrankenhaus, Germany (fl. 1988) = GND 1397846968. --Kolja21 (talk) 16:32, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

--Printstream (talk) 13:17, 2 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Der DNB-Server ist - mal wieder - offline. --Kolja21 (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
✓ Done Beide Datensätze korrigiert und ergänzt. --Kolja21 (talk) 02:16, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

GND gender mismatches

[edit]

Hi! I think you have already seen Property talk:P227/Gender mismatches :) if you want to work on it and the relatively big size of the page is problematic, feel free to split it in subpages as you prefer. FYI @Emu, Silewe, Wurgl, Jneubert: and if you know others potentially interested in it, you can inform them. Of course in the future I can try to produce similar mismatches tables for other data; gender is the easiest, but also for other data it should be relatively easy. --Epìdosis 15:53, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. A very helpful list. --Kolja21 (talk) 15:57, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Goria GND

[edit]

Should Alexandre Goria (Q4720848): French pianist and composer (1823-1860) be reported? Thanks, --Epìdosis 21:06, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

That's a question for the German Music Archive (Q27901). "Adolf Goria" is not listed here as a pseudonym. I added a link at GND 115628517. --Kolja21 (talk) 23:03, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
PS: Looking at NKČR-AUT imho we shoud restore Q55898461 and link the two items with said to be the same as (P460). @Vojtěch Dostál: What do you think? --Kolja21 (talk) 23:16, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Alexandre Goria (1823-1860) vs. Brief von Adolf Goria an Choudens, 1866 six years after the death of Alexandre Goria. --Kolja21 (talk) 23:22, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

--Kolja21 (talk) 09:11, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
--Kolja21 (talk) 11:25, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
--Kolja21 (talk) 11:26, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
--Emu (talk) 12:09, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

doppelte Geschlechtsangabe

[edit]

  • korrektes Unterfeld (z.B. '$g') fehlt in 'Andere Namen - Vornamen/Nachname' vor '$T01'
Da bleibt nur der langwierige Weg über de:WP:GND/F. --Kolja21 (talk) 14:32, 14 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Vielen Dank für Deine Einschätzung. Na, dann werde ich einmal fleissig melden, --Silke (talk) 17:35, 14 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
