Format

[edit]

The constraint allowed "HB26/29/001" or similar, which could optionally be followed by a space and letters A-P; I noticed several IDs Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P1460#"Format" violations that were correct, so I extended that to Z and allowed IDs with repeated letters such as AA or XX; those with repeated letters do not include the space. Northern Ireland Sites & Monuments Record - separate property?

[edit]

In Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P1460#"Format" violations several items have IDs such as "ARM 16:1" or "ANT056:018". These are Northern Ireland Sites & Monuments Record IDs and include scheduled monuments. They are available from https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/8bb16b64f0994385a5c141027ae9d33e/ - the format there is inconsistent (usually "ARM016:001", where the first three letters are a code for the county, but occasionally "FER 246:086" with a space, a few "LDY34A:008" or similar, and two IDs with other formats: "LDY014A:042" and "LDY 014A:041"). There are separate pages for each site (https://apps.communities-ni.gov.uk/NISMR-public/Details.aspx?MonID=5612) and those I looked at add a space after the three letters. The list of scheduled monuments (https://www.communities-ni.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2025-03/scheduled-historic-monuments-of-ni.pdf) uses them without the zeroes at the start of each number, but also omits the county code (which is required for the identifiers to be unique) instead there is a section for each county. I think these IDs should be a separate property but could not find one. Peter James (talk) 21:11, 17 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
