Distribution format (P437)

[edit]

I've just added an item-requires-statement constraint (Q21503247) for distribution format (P437) requiring that it be DVD-ROM (Q2144513), and I wanted to explain why. The Xbox did have a few digital distribution (Q269415) games released via Xbox Live Arcade (Q49612), but Xemu's compatibility list doesn't include any of these titles (though they do include Xbox Live Arcade itself – it came on a game disc). The Xbox's optical drive did support CD-ROM (Q7982) in all hardware revisions, as well as various rewriteable CD/DVD formats in certain hardware revisions (more info), but I don't believe any games were ever released in these formats. Every disc in Redump.org's Xbox datfile has a size of 7825162240 bytes, which corresponds to the DVD-9 media format (single-sided dual-layer DVD-ROM). –IagoQnsi (talk) 01:29, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
