Snow Expected from the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic; Rain and Thunderstorms in the Southeast

A frontal system is expected to bring wintry precipitation to the Central Appalachians and portions of the Mid-Atlantic into Wednesday, meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms are expected along the Gulf Coast and Southeast. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
