Veteran Small Business Certification Changes (VetCert)

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) no longer supports the Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) for purposes of verifying SDVOSB/VOSB certification status. Contracting officers (CO), SDVOSBs, and VOSBs should utilize the Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) database as the official system of record to determine certification status. If a firm is not listed in DSBS, COs should consult the static VetCert list for small businesses that were verified with DUNS numbers and not added to DSBS. These firms will remain in the VetCert database until SAM is updated, at which point the VetCert database will be sunset. For detailed guidance, COs may reference Civilian Agency Acquisition Council Letter 24-02, dated December 13, 2023.
